We’ve been in London for just over two years, and escaping the Big Smoke has been more challenging than anticipated.
This means we’ve spent much of the last two years frantically exploring the capital before we leave in early 2026, when the next chapter begins.
However, an opportunity to take up residence in Cornwall for a short while sprung up, which I (Joel) had to take.
Stacey is Cornish, and I lived in Plymouth for almost two decades, so we are very familiar with Cornwall.
While living on the other side of the county border in Devon, we’ve spent a lot of time in the home of the Cornish pasty, exploring the rugged terrain and quaint villages.
Returning to Cornwall was a refreshing change to the pace of life in London, and exploring the Dutchy while the tourists (which I’m very aware I now am!) were away was quite something.
I spent a little over a week in Kernow, exploring Trerice National Trust, Wheal Coates, Gwithian, Godrevy, St Ives, Fowey, Mevagissey, Padstow and Charlestown, with each place offering a great opportunity for travel photography.
Here is a collection of 53 photographs from my adventures.
Around the same time last year, I was grafting on an organic sheep farm in the Welsh Preseli Hills as part of a WWOOFing experience.
As the winter is mostly behind us and the UK is warming up a touch, March is proving to be a great month for escapes!
